1.Once you get to your desired room, you can then edit the settings parameter for Launching COD 4 in conjunction with Garena. Click on Settings > Browse and find the executable multiplayer for COD.
2. Locate the iw3mp file from your COD4 installation folder (usually in Program Files > Modern Warfare)
3. On the Garena room, hit start game and the game will launch and choose your profile. First time users of COD 4 Multiplayer needs to edit their Key Code. Punch it in on options > multiplayer options > enter keycode
4. You will probably wonder where to get these keys. You can get it HERE. Next up is to join a server, usually during peak hours there are many user rooms for you to join in. Click on Join Game > click the Source tab and it will change to Local, you can then join the hosted game of your choice.
Note: Make sure you join user rooms with pings lower than 150 or you will get raped especially by veteran players. You cannot join internet servers unless you paid for the game and have a legit key code.

where to find those keys??? I went to http://www.savefile.com/files/2068640 and I can't find it
Try it again and look for the download file clickable icon.... Tried it and it works...

You don't play over the Internet Tab, click it to show "local" then you can see the servers hosted in garena which doesn't require a legit "keycode".
Should I just play it the way it is over in garena or should i update with the official patch?
You can play 1.0 and 1.7 but lately, most of the players are on 1.7. Remember to patch 1.6 first then 1.7 and you should be fine.
Hint: the version number is on the lower right of the main cod4 screen.

And what happens with punkbuster?
Pb is optional. Either you turn it on when you start your own server. When you join PB on games, the game will prompt you to turn it on, simple and easy. Look for the punkbuster guide here in my blogs to install it.
i did every that u said but i still cant see the list of games on the server list.
i have version 1.7 and punk buster is up to date
and also i refresh then it goes searching 6/6 games then nothing cames up

@Anonymous, Either press the refresh or quick refresh when there are some games searched. It will show up.
@pogi, nice lololol. The keygen here was free all the time, too bad. Unless you're selling a legit key.:P
Hey i Did all that u said and when i go on Join Game and Local no servers come up...i hit Quick refresh and list refresh and still nothin happens :( pls help !

Do this to check if there are any servers up at that moment. Go to other countries' rooms. Say Malaysia Room 01 or try any other rooms. Don't worry about the settings because you are all set anyway. If there are anything showing up on the "local" tab, chances are, you're good to play.
I think its on the version you have. The 1.0 version doesn't show much games compared to 1.7. Try to update and patch your game first and try again, its not that hard anyway.
There is a 7 Dollars *USD legit cd key on a site I visited. cjs-cdkeys I think. Its better if you are on your way to internet servers and not on Garena only.
the punkbuster nid to enable? is it neccesarry when playing cod4 using GG?
Usually no. Most servers in GG don't use them. Unless if hosts enable them or playing Promod matches or servers like Narakka in Malaysia.
But anyway, if you join a game with PB, the game will prompt you to turn it on before joining, so no worries there. Enjoy.
well, when i generate some keys and put in the game, its said need to ve valid and i verfiy then and they still dont let me go to servers..... and the keys doesnt work
The keys generated are only for Garena and Some Cracked xfire servers. This is solely not for all online servers.

You must be on version 1.7 to play, (1.0 > 1.6 > 1.7 ) no shortcuts or else it wont run.
On the last screen of this post, the source must be local, and not internet. try a full room and join on local as its source, it should probably be showing up fine. :) enjoy.

i cant see any game in garena regardless of which room i enter and i have another problem which it says my main/iw_06.iwd is different from the server. how to solve this problem?
listen when i open garena and choose a room for example europe room 1 i press start and cod 4 appears and when i choose local game i press quick refresh and then refresh list and i wait BUT NOTHING HAPPENS WHY ??????????? please answer quickly !!!!!

1. Save your multiplayer Keycode (or else get a new one; will delete your progress if you do)
2. Reinstall the game. Do this in STRICT order: Install ver 1.6 > Install ver 1.7
+keycode
+directx (Newest you can find)
+mic attached to the pink back panel on your pc
Notes:
You cannot join Online servers. It must be on the "local tab" +they also must have ver 1.7 to play. (on garena play)
To join cracked online servers try xfire, there are plenty of "open to public" games that don't need a legit keycode to play. Goodluck.

The server you have joined has a different version. Try Dual Patch to have both worlds *usually 1.0 and 1.7 . I'd say just start at 1.0 if there are servers out there.

just download 1.6 patch version its not big , and then http://www.fileshack.com/file.x/12409/Call+of+Duty+4:+Modern+Warfare+Patch+1.6+to+1.7 thats 1.7 , make sure u download 1.6 first, and install it where u installed the game. when u download 1.7 install it on the same place and then just get in cod mw1 and enjoy.If this doesn't help im sry l dont know any solutions. ty

There is no crack for multiplayer. The keycode in use is for legit servers.
You must join garena "lan-like" games to play or play on xfire and search for "public" cod4 servers :)
